Fix Drive Not Found Error In Windows 7

Many times we have to face a very bothering error know as drive not found while using DVD drive frequently. Using standard driver and BIOS we can check the presence of DVD drive, but it doesn’t appear in the windows. Let us check out how to fix this problem.

Open windows 7 and click on Start menu. Then type regedit, the registry editor window of windows 7 will pop up. Now look for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlClass and delete both Lowerfilters and Upperfilters. You will find them, Lowerfilters and Upperfilters, on the right hand side panel. This will solve the problem very easily.

If the above mentioned process fails then try another way out. Changing the DVD drive’s Drive Letter will solve the problem. To do so, open the start menu and type Disk Management and hit Enter button. On the bottom panel, you will find your DVD drive, right click on it and choose the option called “Change Drive Paths and Letters”.

Change it to something else like, if it was H then make it I. Now when all the process is complete, reboot your personal computer or laptop once so that the changes can take place. Your work is done and problem will be solved.
