How To Disable SearchWiki Notes From Google Search Results

The Search wiki feature in Google lets the user customize his or her Google Web search results. This feature helps the user rank, remove or add notes to the search results. The feature is visible only when the user is signed in. Some people may find the option rather annoying and unnecessary. If you are one of those people here is an easy way to hide it.

If you simply want to get regular search results without needing to sign out you may follow a few simple steps. All you need to do is to click on the “Preferences” link present on the search results page Then you simply have to scroll down to the foot of the “Preferences” page. Here you will find the “Search wiki” segment. You will have to simply check the option “Hide the ability to share, promote, remove, comment, or add your own results” seen here .Once having done this you will need to click on to the “Save Preferences” button which will be seen at the top right of the page

You should remember that if you hide the controls your preferences do not get deleted. Whenever you will log into your Google Account, all your preferred sites will still emerge at the top, yet the results deleted by you will not show up.

Whenever you want to undo the changes and restore search results you can easily do it and the search wiki feature will again be enabled.

If any user wants to not only disable Search Wiki but also remove all his previous customizations, he will have to first use the link at the bottom of search page that says “See all my Search Wiki notes” (While search wiki option is still on) Here the user may undo all comments and additions he may have previously made and then follow the above mentioned method to turn Search Wiki off.
