There are many occasions when you find that some of the applications hang and turn to be unresponsive on your iPhone. In that situation you have to kill that application immediately whether directly following the simple procedure or forcefully.

While on iPhone 1.x and 2.x, you can hold down the home screen button to “Force Quit” any application and return back to the home screen properly. However, latest version of iPhone doesn’t get activated by holding down the home screen button like iPhone 3GS.

So, here is the simple and straightforward process to force quit any application on iPhone 3GS

  • You just press and grip down the Sleep/Wake Button till the slide icon appears on the screen to power off the device. Now, press and hold down the Home button till the application quits.
  • That’s all.
