Mark As Watched Movies or TV Shows Manually In Apple TV

Are you searching for a solution for your Apple TV to manually modify your TV shows, podcasts and movies to be changed to “mark as watched”? The existing Apple TV (2010) is pretty adamant about doing it itself. When you watch something in your Apple TV, you are not sure whether the Apple TV has recognized it or not. Nevertheless, Apple is most likely to solve this issue soon in the forthcoming iOS update. In the meantime, a simple trick will help you when you are dealing with the bulk of your videos, movies, TV shows and etc. Check out the following:

  • First of all you have to highlight the Podcast, TV show or movie which you need to mark as watched
  • Next, press and hold the menu button down
  • You will be prompted with the popup massage asking to select “Mark as watched” or “Cancel”
  • Finally, again you have to click on the menu button. That’s all!

The following is an additional step and it will be quite annoying for you. However, when Apple solves this issue, you will find this step very handy. This becomes helpful mainly for older content that you have added in the iTunes collection with Windows OS or Mac PC.

Extra: If you have added huge number of old content, such as a group of all the home movies that you have ripped, you will find it much speedy to go to iTunes with your Windows OS or Mac PC. Then, select all and right click on the selected portion. Now, finally select “mark as watched” option in the iTunes.
