New Olympus SP-565UZ Digital Camera

This new camera from Olympus with 373 gram weight, trully not a pocket camera. Excerpted from photographybay.com;

“Responding to consumers’ needs for lighter and more compact digital cameras that they can take anywhere, Olympus continues to master the art of miniaturization. We did it with the E-420, the world’s smallest DSLR, and we’ve done it again with the SP-565 UZ,” said Nadine Clark, product manager, Olympus Imaging America Inc. “The new camera offers the same amazing lens found in the SP-570 UZ in a more portable form factor that’s as easy to use as any point-and-shoot camera. It’s not quite a pocket digital, but it’s designed for wearing around the neck for an extended time, and it fits easily in a backpack with room for books or hiking gear.”

This 10 CCD megapixel camera has 20x zoom, indeed, photolectic.com wrote this is the first camera to sport a 20x optical zoom. Face Detection System in Olympus SP-565UZ can detect up to 16 faces and automatically focuses, so if you take a picture with your families, all faces is in focus, wether it is in the center of the target area or not. Self-timer let you get into your own pictures. Dual Image stabilization makes your images still sharp and prevents blur caused by moving subject. Olympus also balance exposure for faces and background, adjusted to ensure that both people in the foreground and elements in the background are properly exposed. There’s also another interesting feature, check this High-speed continuous shooting, offering 13.5 frames per second, you can capture fast-moving object like golf swing, football goal or motor races. There’s also Pre-Capture ability, that work as soon as the focus is locked and after fully pressing the shutter button. This makes sure you don’t miss any action, even if your late to take a shot. This camera also support SD Card memory. The power comes from 4 standar AA batteries.
