Here’s a Quick Way to Restore Windows Default Settings After Messed Up by Virus
November 6th, 2008 by it gossips | Comments | Filed in SoftwareDid your computer registry configuration messed up after infected by virus? Can’t open the regedit? Can’t show hidden files? Can’t remove the virus with antivirus? Then this should help you.
Most virus has almost the same way to protect itself being removed from computer including:
- Disabling Task Manager - you can’t open the regular task manager because this virus
- Disabling Registry Editor - you can’t open the regedit so you can’t restore your windows settings
- Creates a startup entry to start upon system start - this make sure, everytime your computer boot up, the virus loaded
- Creates its own exe files in Shared Documents folder which appear like ordinary folders - this action make the virus spread itself to another computers
- Disables Folder Options - you can’t show hidden files
- Uses your 50% or more processor - everytime your computer boot up, it is getting worse. Ouch!
Some anti-virus programs are able to scan opened files in addition to sent and received e-mails ‘on the fly’ in a similar manner. This practice is known as “on-access scanning.”
Anti-virus software does not change the underlying capability of host software to transmit viruses. Users must update their software regularly to patch security holes. Anti-virus software also needs to be regularly updated in order to prevent the latest threats.
But how if you already infected?
That must be pain in the ass. Not everyone has that updated expensive antivirus. There is a free virus remover named Killer Machine which has a big size and PCMAV Virus Cleaner 1.8
Or… IF you are not satisfied with that, fortunately, there is a tool called Smart Virus Remover that can help us KICK this kind of virus and restore our settings.
This application size is 557.4Kb, small and fast.
