Unlock Nexus S Bootloader With Simple Steps

Recently, the Google Nexus S has been released and now this Nexus S has been rooted successfully. If you are planning to unlock your Nexus S, the following guide will surely help you. The process for bootloader on the Nesus S device could be rooted just like the rooting of Nexus One device.

You should have an Android 2.3 SDK with fastboot. Go to the link here to download it.

  • First of all, turn off your Nexus S device.
  • Press Volume Up and the Power buttons at the same time and you will enter in the standard recovery mode.
  • Now, just install the Android 2.3 SDK file. If you are using Mac OS X, open terminal app or if you are using Windows OS, just open the Command Prompt. Now type “fastboot devices” for checking whether your device appears via USB or not.
  • Fastboot shows your device, if you are correctly connected. Now, you have to type “fastboot OEM unlock”.
  • That’s all. You have unlocked the Nexus S bootloader successfully!
